Spicerhaart, of which Howards is part, is delighted to announce that we have been awarded the Armed Forces Covenant Gold Award, the highest honour recognising employers who show exceptional commitment to supporting military personnel and their families. The Armed Forces Covenant recognises employers who excel in their support of the Armed Forces community. Achieving the Gold Award is a testament to our commitment to service members, veterans, and their families.
David Skingley, pictured above, became part of our team in 2018, bringing with him 26 years of military service and 13 years of commercial and government expertise. A former Warrant Officer in the Royal Corps of Signals, David now plays an integral role in managing our IT Infrastructure, including servers, networking, and IT security.
Emma Barber, our Head of Training and Development and Armed Forces Champion, whose husband served for 22 years, shared her emotions on the recognition:
“We hold the highest regard for the commitment shown by service personnel. By signing the Armed Forces Covenant, we vowed to treat them with fairness and respect. To now receive the Gold Award is one of the most meaningful moments in my life, both personally and professionally.”
Our CEO, Antony Lark, shared his pride in receiving the award:
“We are honoured to receive the Gold Award, which strengthens our commitment to supporting the Armed Forces community. This recognition highlights our continuous efforts to provide military employees with the tools and opportunities needed to thrive in their careers after service.”
Spicerhaart has consistently recognised the significant impact that veterans and reservists have on the civilian workforce. With this award, we join a select group of employers demonstrating exceptional support for the Armed Forces community.
We are committed to fostering a supportive environment for all our employees, especially those who have served in the military, and are excited to continue our journey of support for the Armed Forces community in the coming years.
