The History

There has been a forge on this site for well over two hundred years, and in the mid-19th century an adjoining two-storey building was added. That part has also functioned as a village store and as a tea-room, while the forge, fronting The Street, later served as a filling-station. In the early 1990s the previous owner acquired the properties and rebuilt the forge to modern standards on the same footprint, re-using the roof tiles. He also integrated the two buildings seamlessly to provide the comfortable and practical home it now is.
